Firstly, rubber gloves can handle acid & alkali solutions with concentrations below 40%. If contact with solutions above 40%, gloves should be cleaned with water immediately after use to prevent shortening the lifespan.
Secondly, contact with strong oxidizing acids such as sodium cyanide and chromic acid will cause aging, discoloration and premature damage. Higher concentrations of strong oxidizing acid even may cause ablation, which should be taken seriously.
Thirdly, latex industrial gloves are only suitable for weak acids, low concentrations of hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and various salts. Avoid to contact with sodium cyanide and other strong oxidizing acids.
Fourth, general
latex work gloves and agricultural machinery gloves are only suitable for contact with general contaminant, but should not be used for contacting with acids and alkalis.
Fifth, avoid contact with gasoline, engine oil, grease and various organic solvents. Avoid contact with sharp metals and high temperatures.
Finally, after application, clean acidic & alkaline liquid and stains with water on the surface of work gloves, and then dry them. Do not expose to sunlight directly or burn. If work gloves will not be used for an extended period, sprinkle a small amount of calcium carbonate powder to prevent sticking.
Based on the above description of acid & alkali resistant gloves, please pay close attention during future use to ensure your safety better and prevent accidents.
