Therefore, leather welding gloves are not suitable for use alone in live-line work.
In practical use, "double-layer protection" approach is recommended, wear standard-compliant rubber insulating glove as inner layer, and then wear a leather welding glove as outer layer. This not only achieves electrical insulation, but also plays leather gloves` advantages of flame-retardant and heat-insulating, making them suitable for high-temperature operations such as welding, cutting and grinding.
In order to extend the lifespan of the gloves, daily maintenance is essential. For examples, remove welding slag and dirt promptly after use, keep them dry, as well as avoid contacting with oils, strong acids and alkalis. Regularly check gloves surface for cracks, thinning and hardening, to replace them promptly so that ensure protective effectiveness.
