Classification and Correct Selection of Safety Gloves

From the perspective of safety production, hand is the part of the human body with the highest injury rate, and safety gloves are essential labor protection supplies in our daily operations. Due to different functions, various safety gloves are used in different places. Therefore, it is very important to master the classification and correct selection of safety gloves. The use of safety gloves must be selected according to the protective function of the gloves, and not to be abused to avoid accidents.

 

1. Insulating gloves

Refers to the electrical insulating gloves must be worn by operators when they are live on electrical equipment with AC voltage of 10kV and below 10kV (or DC electrical equipment of the corresponding voltage level). Its product model, appearance size and technical requirements should comply with the "General Technical Conditions for Insulating Gloves for Live Working".

The gloves must have good electrical insulation properties. Excellent tensile strength and tensile elongation are also required, as well as puncture resistance, aging resistance, flame resistance and low temperature resistance.

 

2. Chemical-resistant gloves

Chemical-resistant gloves are protection gloves that prevent chemical solvents from harming the hands, and their quality should meet the requirements of acid (alkali) resistant gloves. Gloves are not allowed to have defects such as frost, brittleness, viscosity and damage. No leaking means gloves must be airtight, and there must be no leakage under a specific pressure.

 

According to the material, they can be divided into latex gloves, rubber gloves, PVC gloves, nitrile gloves, etc. Most of the medical gloves used in hospitals are nitrile or rubber.

 

3. Welding gloves

Welding gloves are personal safety equipment to prevent high temperatures, molten metals during welding. According to different finger types, pig leather and split leather are divided into two-finger type, three-finger type and five-finger type. Welding gloves have strict appearance requirements. The first-level product requires the leather to be uniform in thickness, plump, soft and elastic, and the leather fluff is delicate, uniform and firm, consistent in color, and non-greasy. Second-level products, the leather lacks of full elasticity, the leather surface fluff is coarse, and the color is a bit dark.

 

4. Shockproof gloves

Shockproof gloves are used for contact vibration, such as using hand-held vibrating tools (chain saws) and rock drills in forestry, mining, construction, transportation and other departments. Structurally, anti-vibration gloves mainly add a certain thickness of foam plastic, latex and air interlayer on the palm to absorb vibration. The thicker of padding, the more air content, and the better the shock absorption effect. However, it is easy to affect the operation if palm and finger surface are too thick.
